ReachOut: Taking Root in the Local Community
This past semester, ReachOut has been involved in some incredible volunteer opportunities and projects. We connected with the Delaware Center for Horticulture to take part in both their Wilmington Tree Giveaway and Rare Plant Auction events during the month of April. In the spirit of Earth Day and sustainability in April, EWB-UD also hosted a table activity for the local NCCL School’s annual GreenFest to help teach young students the importance of sustainable engineering practices.

Outside of these events, ReachOut continued with its Downes Safe Routes to School partnership by helping to lead bike trains on Monday during their Bike to School Week May held 7th-11th. The partnership with the Early Learning Center for the design of their outdoor learning environment came to a conclusion as Landscape Architecture students and EWB members presented their final Master Plan. The design was well-received and only requires funding for further steps to be taken. We look forward to remaining involved in the project as it moves forward!
Thank you to all of those students and people involved that helped make all of these opportunities a success!
