A First Step Toward Clean Water in the Philippines

A First Step Toward Clean Water in the Philippines

Yesterday, members of EWB-UD participated in the First Step presentation and award ceremony on UD’s STAR campus. First Step is a program providing mentorship and funding opportunities to groups addressing pressing societal and environmental challenges. Under the mentorship of Kim Bothi, two students worked to address the root cause of water sanitation in the community of Ubujan in the Philippines.

While the team did not receive an award during the ceremony, the process helped raise awareness of the organization and its projects, provided an opportunity to network, and helped to further develop our solutions to the challenges Ubujan faces in securing clean water.
